Delevallée’s work is going about shape and colour which from the artist’s point of view, express the social, biological and cultural conditioning of the human being, and his denying of it, in a very caustic and vitriolic humoristic way. Beyond her unbelievable orchestration (Ave…Ave…Ave Maria) of beautifully painted packaging (several various salvaged wrapping boxes), Arlette is pushing the spectator trough his own duality: does man act according to his very own innate feelings? Or does he live as a victim of the “system”?
Box considerated as a feminine symbol holds always a secret: at the same time, it keeps locked and separated precious, delicate or dangerous things from the world. Content and container, tightly embedded as a result of the skilfully artist’s hands, are meaningfully merging punctuated with her mocking and suggestive speech… What an Artist!!!!! (everything might, except indifference!)
